Ingeborg Kongslien
Ingeborg Kongslien is a Professor at the University of Oslo, Department of Linguistics and Scandinavian Studies. She has a Doctor of Philosophy Degree from the University of Oslo with a study of Scandinavian and Norwegian-American emigrant literature. Her dissertation, published in 1989, is entitled The Dream of Freedom and Land, A Study of Scandinavian Migrant Novels. Her recent research interests and numerous publications are on contemporary Nordic writings by immigrants and multicultural writers, with special focus on identity formation and redefinition.
For Nordic Studies Press, she translated Pakkis with Cladia Berguson.
Dr. Kongslien has also taught at the University of Chicago, the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN.
