John Weinstock
John Weinstock, Professor Emeritus University of Texas at Austin, taught Sámi culture, Norwegian, Old Icelandic, Scandinavian culture, music, linguistics and Wagner’s operas for many years. His recent publications include articles on origins of the Sámi and Sámi literature as well as five Christian Stannow books translated from Swedish and seven books from Norwegian including Laila Stien’s Antiphony, Ailo Gaup’s The Night Between the Days, and five books by Matti Aikio, the world’s first indigenous author (The Village at the Riverbend, In Reindeer Hide, Son of the Hebrew, Capstones of a Calling and King Ahab – or Falk and Jenny).
